POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT
What is Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)?
PBS is a person-centred and evidence-based approach with the primary aim of increasing an individual’s quality of life. It is driven by disability rights and seeks to understand a person’s challenging behaviours, and therefore develop individualised preventative and environmental modifications, as well as skill development, for a person with disability to improve
their quality of life and reduce challenging behaviours.
How is Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) funded?
This support is funded through the Improved Relationships budget of a participant’s NDIS plan.
How does Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) work at Thrive Health Centre?
We understand that every behaviour serves a purpose. If you or a loved one have behaviour difficulties, we can provide support by developing a plan, in collaboration with all parties, to help you act in more appropriate ways. We will then review this plan with you are your care team regularly to ensure it remains appropriate. Our goal is to empower you by developing individualised strategies that foster independence and enhance wellbeing. We will work closely with you and your support team to develop tailored strategies that meet your specific needs, while also creating a supportive environment.
Our skilled Behaviour Support Practitioner is here to support you to reduce or eliminate difficult behaviours.
